Book Review: The Early Bird Catches the Worm But the Second Mouse Gets the Cheese

A collection of inspirational stories and personal experience that will make you laugh, cry, start again and love again. Writer and speaker Francis J. Kong reiterated stories and passages from the bible that will surely captivate every reader’s heart.

I can say that this book changed my perspective in life. I was in the middle of depression and disappointment that time. I doubted myself and I don’t want to go to work. My boss gave me all the reasons to actually believe I’m not good and stupid. One of my officemates blamed me from all the things she does. She made me weak and worst, she made me a liar. I was losing hope then, and I don’t want to go on anymore. Until one day, my best friend lend me this book and she knows how I love books.

It has a lot of stories written inside that will make you stop and think and pray. At first, I planned to read 1 story a day and then it became 2 stories a day until I can’t stop myself from reading it. I don’t want to finish the book yet but all the lessons and words of wisdom made me crave for more… more about Reality, about Love, about Life, and about God.

Here are some of my super favorite stories in this book:
      If you love something

And one of my favorite quotations from If you love something:
“If you love somebody, you will care enough to share your life to help, to give, rather than to get or to receive. If you will love somebody, you will begin to invest more of your time, listen carefully to what that person is saying. If you love somebody, you will rejoice at that person’s success. And most importantly, if you love somebody, you would pray for that person and bring him/her to the Savior.”

Francis J. Kong is a true icon. I admire his passion for what he’s doing and for what he believes in. I believe that one of the most difficult things to do in life is to change somebody’s life in a positive way. But that’s what he’s doing and I really idolized him for that.
